Job Announcement:
East Burrillville Fire District
EMT/FIREFIGHTER
We are just making an eligibility list for 2024 through June 2025 at this time, not hiring.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active RI EMT license
- Current CPR certification
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Clean BCI check (BCI can be completed through the Burrillville Police Dept. or your local Police Dept.)
General Duties:
- Respond to all types to emergency incidents and situations, including but not limited to Fires, emergency medical calls, water emergencies, vehicle accidents, and hazardous materials incidents.
- Render appropriate rescue and emergency medical aid.
- Properly transport individuals requiring additional medical treatment to the appropriate medical facility.
- Respond to various fire related calls, including but not limited to, structure, vehicle, brush, etc.
- Certify as a driver/operator of all apparatus and equipment within sixty calendar days of employment.
- Perform fire safety inspections as directed by the Chief.
- Perform Fire Prevention activities as directed by the Chief.
- Perform radio/telephone communications per Fire Department and FCC rules and regulations.
- Complete daily station duties and check lists.
Salary:
EMT Basic $23 hr, EMT C $25.00, Paramedic $26.00, additional compensation offered for select Fire Certifications.
About Our Department:
Our district is approximately 22 square miles, with a population of approximately 8,000 people, call volume of ~1,100 calls annually. The Fire District contains a variety of potential occupancies that include: single family housing, multiple family housing, agriculture, commercial, light and heavy industrial, houses of worship, places of assembly, petroleum storage facilities.
